STEP PROGRAMS
There are currently fifty-six (56) programs throughout New York State.
There were 16,167 students enrolled in STEP programs in 2023-2024.
During 2023-2024 STEP students participated in Research and Internship activities totaling 79,638 hours.
Over 80% of STEP graduates pursue professional degree programs of study in STEM & STEP targeted fields.
STEP has graduated over 39,893 students.
CSTEP PROGRAMS
There are currently sixty-two (62) programs throughout New York State.
Over 70% of CSTEP graduates pursue professional degree programs of study in STEM and CSTEP-targeted fields.
CSTEP graduated over 39,952 students from independent, SUNY, CUNY, and two-year community colleges from 1987 to 2024.
Along with the pre-college STEP programs, CSTEP and STEP served approx. 25,500 students in 2023-2024.
CSTEP programs have served approximately 182,107 students since its creation by the Legislature in 1987.
During 2023-2024 CSTEP students participated in research and internship activities totaling 485,003 hours.

STEP and CSTEP
The Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) and the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) are grant-funded programs sponsored by the New York State Department of Education.
